Greetings to all!  Thank you for joining us on this sunny celebration of spring!  After a cold winter and a wet start to the spring, it was sure nice of the sun to grace us with its presence.  The flowers are at last in full bloom and the shoreline has provided ample opportunity for wildlife viewing.

Welcome back!  Spring is in full swing and that means it's go time!  The sunny days in April were taken full advantage of as spring projects piled up.  For those of you who have been eagerly following the progress of the tidal power project, things have begun to move forward once again.  With the help of a little (long awaited) sunshine, a building was quickly raised on the shore designed to house the battery system.

February 2017

Well, it's already halfway through March so before we get too far ahead let's take a look back at February.  The last month began with the end of the Seattle boat show and for that, we'd like to thank all of you for stopping by to see us at the booth.  The 2017 Seattle Boat Show was the first trade show Blind Channel has participated in and it was, we hope, hugely successful.

Welcome to 2017, and hello from the Seattle boat show!  January at Blind Channel began as a blur of activity as our water taxis ranged far and wide including a regular trip to the head of Loughborough inlet while our cabins continue to be rented up.  Cabin rentals this month included a group of local urchin and sea cucumber divers, a coastal delicacy abundant in the tidal waters.

This is it, the end of one of the busiest years in Blind Channel’s history, and we have all of you to thank.  December was no exception as the boats and accommodation were kept in full swing.  An exciting finish to the year came as the new tidal power turbine was hauled up to Blind Channel and is now securely tied to the dock awaiting installation. The project, in partnership with Mavi Innovations, is scheduled for completion this spring.

Well, the trend continues and Blind Channel is as busy as ever.  The cabins have been consistently occupied throughout the month as the water-taxis keep on the move.  Our tidal power project is advancing beautifully as the engineers continue to work out logistics.  Other projects this month included a new roof on the six bedroom roundhouse as well as wildlife spotting and puddle jumping.  Enjoy:

Shoulder season has arrived here at Blind Channel, while we wrap up the busiest summer ever.  Early September saw a consistent flow of traffic with many a boater out taking advantage of the good weather.  The restaurant, usually only open until Labour Day weekend kept busy with Labour Day come and gone.  When we did finally close the doors for the season we were still offering take out meals delivered personally to the dock.
