Despite the few days of Northwest wind the turn out for the second music event of the summer was exceptional.  The day dawned bright and sunny and by the evening the lively music and friendly atmosphere had everyone tapping their toes.  Thanks to Hal Douglas and his band for putting on a spectacular evening!

A summer evening of live music good food and new friends.  The first of this season’s music and seafood boil events kicked off with a bang.  The marina was jam packed full and when the music began at 6:00 that evening the patio came alive as we began one of our busiest live music nights ever.  The Dave Blinzinger Quartet has joined us in the past and performed as outstanding as ever.

May 2016

June you say?  But what became of May?  Has it come and gone already?  The warm and sunny days melted into one another and left us reeling into June before we knew it.  On May’s first weekend the radio crackles to life, “Do you have room for five boats?” comes the friendly voice on the other end.  As there were already a few boats at the dock it feels like a busy start to the month.

March 2016

We seem to have skipped spring.  March has brought us dramatically from winter to summer.  The season began with an early start as temperatures soar and boaters and adventures enthusiastically take to the water.  Meanwhile at Blind Channel the Richter family is busy running the watertaxi and preparing for the upcoming summer.  There are gardens to be planted, docks to be fixed and buildings to be renovated.  The upkeep is never ending.

February 2016

February has come and gone and with the impending spring comes a flurry of activity.  The cold winter rains are now interrupted by increasingly warm clear days while the daylight lingers longer and longer.  The feeling of spring in the air is motivation enough to get outside and begin the task of tackling jobs that need doing before the summer is upon us.  Moving beyond the resort our water taxis never seems to slow and we are kept constanly busy exploring the ever magnificant shorelines.

This is a beautiful place and very comfy accommodations, with friendly staff. I am reading two books, "I Heard the Owl Call my Name" and "Spilsbury's Coast." It is unique to be reading stories of the coast history while living in it. A wonderful trip.
